General Information:
This small circular dew pond is located within the Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Bubwith Acres Reserve at OS Grid reference ST47602 53591.
RAGS had previously cleared it of silt in 2014, so the silt removal process was relatively painless, but almost all the cobbles needed lifting and resetting. It appears that the bases in the circular dew ponds, where cattle have access all round, become much more degraded than those in ponds with only specific points of access for livestock, where only the cobbles on the ramps are seriously damaged.
